Important Aspects of the Sacrament:
Form: The Form for Baptism is,"I baptize you in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit."
Matter: The Principle Matter for Baptism is either full immersion in water or sprinkling/pouring over the one being baptized. The Secondary Matter of Baptism is the white garment, the candle, and godparents.
Minister: The ordinary minister for Baptism is a Deacon or Priest. The extraordinary minister for Baptism is anyone in an emergency.
Rite: In Baptism you first are called by God to the Sacrament. Usually it is a child receiving Baptism but it can be anyone of any age. At usual Baptisms the child wears a white garment and they have a candle that is lit at the ceremony. The child has godparents that attend and guide them in their spiritual journey. The Priest or Deacon sprinkles or pours the water on the child's head saying,"I Baptize you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit."
My Baptism:
I was Baptized on June 10, 2001 at Saint Agnes Cathedral.
My godparents are Sara Aswegan and Dan Corde they were chosen because they are both very close to my parents. Sara Aswegan is my mother's sister and Dan Corde is my father's best friend. My parents both believed that these were faithful people they can trust to guide me in my faith. They both hold high regards for their faith and hold it as a part of their life with high regard.
